For LPNs seeking an advanced placement, a LPN transition course must be taken before starting staff nursing courses. This allows students to earn credits and achieve advanced placement status in the Associate Program. While no minimum cumulative average is required for the application, a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is recommended to be competitive for admission. This program is only open to students who hold a registered nurse`s license and have successfully completed an Associate`s Degree in Nursing from a locally accredited community college. It is highly recommended that you meet with a Rutgers representative to review the prerequisite courses required. The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing AI program is that initial admission to accreditation to the nursing program is competitive and requires a second application for admission.
