The Department of Legal Metrology is a regulatory service. It is responsible for maintaining the uniformity and accuracy of all weights and measures, pes and gauges used by merchants in all hats, markets and malls in the state. The main tasks of the department are to implement the provisions of the Legal Metrology Act of 2009, the General Regulation on Legal Metrology of 2011, the Legal Metrology (Application) Regulations of 2011 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Goods) Regulations of 2011.
